OH MY WORD !!!

I live in (Northern/ North of) Ireland and have been sporadically researching my Barclay family for years.
Yesterday was the first time I've been confident about how Isabella Barclay fits into my tree - her father Jonathan is my GGG grandfather.
I'd previously found a Will on the Public Records office Northern Ireland  (PRONI) for a Mary Barclay ...who I've now worked out is my GGG grandmother and Isabellas mother.

From the Will I can see Isabella Stevenson and her 2 brothers - Samuel and Joseph Barclay -were in Pittsburgh in 1875, so all the information you guys have provided in the last few hours is completely new to me,fascinating,and totally ties in with the dates in the Will.
I'm not at all familiar with any of the American genealogy sites,Census etc so I'm absolutely delighted to have the information you've provided on here today.
As I think you've already worked out, the (Barclay) family were predominately Presbyterian.

I need to reread all the replies which have appeared on here since I posted my question.. about 12 hours ago...but for now I just want to say a huge thank you for ALL the information and website links.

familysearch.org is a free site, but you need to sign up and set up an account. The US censuses are there and some vital records. Sometimes the indexing is based on a bad transcription of the surname or given name, so try different combinations when looking for them.

Ancestry.com has the Pennsylvania death records, and some older obituaries included. for other newspaper.com articles, you need an extra subscription.

Hi All, I don't think this is the same Robert Stevenson as mine.  As mine married a Jane Martin in Banbridge in 1859 and subsequently moved to Liverpool.
I am pleased though that you have managed to get somewhere with your family and that is why forums like these are so good.
