Can anyone help with house names please? I've traced my great great grandmother(Mary Jones) to Penmynydd and found 2 possibe matches on the 1841 census. On pages 2 and 3 there are several houses under a name that looks like Orwel or Orsedd. I can't make out the handwriting and would like to know the name of the houses. Could these be the Almshouses? It seems an odd name (should be Elusendai) but I can't think of anywhere else with so many houses together. Also, there seems to be several families living there and I understand that the purpose of the Almshouses was to provide homes for single men.

If you look at page one the details of the enumerator's walk are given
Parish of Penmynydd -it seems  Orsedd is a place in that parish -not a house name -1841 census seldom gives House names (or numbers) unless it is name of a PH , school etc
I have found mention of a family who came from Penmynydd and Yr Orsedd and states "now Rhos Cefn Hir"

What I think is..........
Like where I live there are several terraced houses and each group has a name such as.....
Grosvenor View  this has 5 houses.
Abbey View has 3 houses.
Newtown has 20 plus houses.
Where you see Do for ditto it's another house.
They built an area where I live in the 1960's
Hollyfield   there are 30 bunglaows, BUT, 6 are Hollyfield, Pant Lane and the rest are built in a crescent at the back of the first 6.
I went to look for a house in Baggott Street in Dublin some years ago, that is the same, built in blocks, as you walk up to St Stephens Green, the numbers are backwards and forwards.
I am always helping delivery vans as there are 135 dwellings that don't have numbers only names.
So that what it is and also the name looks like Anwell.

Thank you for your suggestions. There appears to have been some boundary changes and I am concentrating my research on a house named "Orsedd" in Penmynydd.
