1851 Census lookup for HARROTT
« on: Tuesday 26 July 05 01:11 BST (UK) »
I do not have very much information to start with other than what follows.

According to my mother, my great-grandfather was Joseph Thomas(?) HARROTT. According to United States census records Joseph HARROTT (no middle name provided in census record) was born about 1836 in England. Also, according to US census records, his father was Thomas HARROTT, occupation miner, born about 1809 in England. They immigrated to the US sometime before 1862 when Joseph HARROTT and his wife Anna had their first child in the US.

Family legend has it that Joseph Thomas(?) HARROTT was born in Liverpool perhaps in August of 1836. I hesitate to mention this as I cannot confirm the information, and it may turn out to be nothing but family myth.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hopefully someone can look in the Manchester area and find additional information from the census. From past experience I would like to have another source that confirms the IGI data.  :)

Thank you
