WW11 Uniform ID

Good morning again,

I would also say earlier than ww2, it's a ww1 style uniform. Introduced in 1902? and worn up until 1938 when the new battledress was introduced. Although I believe some territorial force and cadets wore it right up to the war while waiting for the new BDs. Regulars came first.

There does not appear to be be any means of regt'l ID.

A little more of the picture would help with dating. Womens clothing is sometimes easier to date than mens as it seemed to change more frequently.

Lance Corporal - one stripe. If that is a lanyard over his left
 shoulder then he is not in the Royal Artillery. Other than that it is hard to add more.

During WW2 she almost certainly would be in a suit. No chance of obtaining that much material for so many bridesmaids due to rationing.

Worth trying John915's suggestion to attempt to date the ladies' outfits.  Better done on the photo restoration board where you have another photo.

Old family photo, we have no idea who it is or where, thought I'd try uniform ID first as it seems to be the only clue, I think the notice board is unreadable too

It is a bit blurred, but I think it reads "Civic Notices Only to be affixed to this board".  An obscure saint's name would have been much better!!

Just looked at some wedding photos, my aunt's wedding 1935 - similar style to bride, as was my husband's parents 1941 and his aunt's 1940 all in similar wedding dresses and veils. My mother married in a wedding dress in 1947 which was still in rationing time but no photos survived so I've never seen them. They only had a friend take the photos and somehow they never received them after they were developed. Perhaps they weren't very good.

EDIT Clothes rationing started 1st June 1941.

Thank  you everyone, I knew it was a long shot but worth a try. Yes, I was hoping for an obscure saint....or an obscure vicars name would have done. Lol
