Found Elizabeth's birth to ephraim. 15/4/1725. No mother mentioned.

There is an Ephraim Seabrook marrying Elizabeth Carter in Bermondsey 1718.

Right dates. wonder if there's an Ann carter marrying a Thomas housden there? First child I can find is Ann baptised 1723 Dagenham.

Hmmm ... so there's now ephraim's wife Elizabeth carter who could be a sister of jane's mother or father, Ann Townsend who could be a sister of ephraim's wife and Elizabeth smith's mother who could be a sister of ephraim. Elizabeth smith can't be Elizabeth carter's wife, I don't think, as unlikely two living sisters would both be called Elizabeth.

Essex Record Office
Dated 1820 documents refer to division of property and mentions Ephraim Seabrook and wife Elizabeth and Samuel Seabrook and wife Mary all of Dagenham. These are not digitized but might be worth the cost of copies as no will found for the Seabrook's apart from Elizabeth (spinster in 1755) already mentioned.
These kinds of documents often make reference to how the property was obtained establishing ownership of the title and may go back many years.

That's very good of you to find these. I think I need to establish how ephraim is related to Jane housden first though? Not having much luck with that on SEAX yet. However, I did discover Townsend baptisms in barking, so I am next looking up Townsend marriages to see if related to the housdens or to jane's mother. Don't have her surname as can't find her marriage to Thomas Housden. Must be around 1720 as first child born in 1724 and Thomas was born in 1795, so wouldn't be of age til 1816. If I could find this marriage, it would solve quite a few queries.
Love a good puzzle but this one is taking a while!

There is a marriage listed in Westminster in 1739 of a Benjamin Townsend to an Ann Housden.
