Here's the best place to start:
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
It doesn't cost anything to register and search, but you have to pay for certificates.

I'm very happy to try to help you, but you need to tell us some
names
,
dates
and
places
to get our teeth into.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

I have been looking for information about Robert Bryden McGeorge who has a war grave in Eckford Cemetery. I was looking for his cause of death - it was influenza and pneumonia in 1919 when he was still in the army. Thankyou to those who helped.

You would need to buy credits and download his death cert to get that info
MCGEORGE ROBERT BRYDEN age 42 1919 787/A 3 Eckford
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
He is not on
www.cwgc.org
so did not die from injuries whilst serving

Is there a particular reason you have posted this request on a 2016 post belonging to somebody else rather than starting a new topic?

CaroleW and monicaL - I get totally lost on this website, it's a wonder I get anything posted at all. I'm not very techie! I wish it was easier to use - simpler instructions would help. Sorry!
