Hammond of Gawsworth
« on: Thursday 01 December 16 05:00 GMT (UK) »
Hello from Australia,
My husband is related to Rev John Hammond, Rector in Gawsworth from about 1683 to 1724, when he died. We wondered if anyone knows if he and his wife (Alice Lucy) are buried in the Church, and we wanted to find the baptism of their son, also John about 1690. Other siblings were Davenport 1691, George 1693 and Susannah 1697. Alice died in 1697 and John remarried Rebekah Bayley. No children have been found to this marriage. Any help most gratefully appreciated.

There is an oil painting of the Rev John Hammond son of John and Alice Lucy at Charlecote Park, Warwickshire Museum which you may not have seen
Scroll down to subjects to see both paintings.

Hello and thank you for your interest and replies. I have noted the burial from the Gawsworth Registers, but wonder of he and Alice have a headstone, or whether they could be buried at Charlecote.
