hi, can anyone help? i am trying to find the parents of william barton bap 1647 /48 poss prescot  although he wed in ormskirk to ann barton in 1668 , with thanks.
sephton/sefton, dutton, cooper, reynolds, hulme, mclean, lewell, austin, gerrard, brown.

Be aware that there are many Barton families in South West Lancashire. Did he leave a will as they may help with working out where he was born or did other family members leave wills that would help with the search?

Have a look at lancs opc site. There is a baptism for a Wiiliam Barton around that date in Prescot but no parents names given. There are several other Barton baptisms around that time, some with father's name and some without.

Did he name a Son Peter.

FreeREG has a William Barton Baptised 14 May 1643 Ormskirk, Father Peter

thanks for the replies, i found the one  on lancs opc site , i dont know if he had a son peter only james, but i have not looked at wills yet so i will do that, thanks again.
