Is there any kind person out there who would check the following for me?

Marriage of Ann Roberts, St Marys, Luton, Beds 8/2/1794 to Isaac Ivory of Kimpton, Herts. Are there any useful annotations not on familysearch

Also baptism of Ann Roberts d/o John and Mary, St Marys, Luton, Beds 3/6/1770. Anything extra of interest?

I am a direct descendant of Isaac Ivory and Ann Roberts (as well as his brother Thomas Ivory via a cousin marriage) now living in Rome, Italy.  Thank you. Phillipa

Looking at the Beds FHS Surnames interests CD it seems the marriage was in 1793 & by licence. I haven't got sight of the Luton marriage transcripts, however the marriage licence allegations transcripts show the following:-   

Marriage on 5 Feb 1793 of Ann Roberts of Luton, age 22, to marry Isaac Ivory of Kimpton, Herts, age 22 - surety given by John Roberts of Luton.

Also Isaac Ivory, gent of Kimpton, Herts gave surety for marriage on 10 Jan 1793 of Isaac Haydon of Luton to Hannah Roberts of Luton, age 25.

There is also marriage on 6 Apr 1793 of Sarah Ivory of Kimpton, Herts age 19 with guardian's consent to George Davison age 19 of Luton - surety given by Abel Ewington, of Kimpton, Herts, guardian of Sarah Ivory.

Just to add that I have now found a PCC will for John Roberts, farmer of the parish of Luton plus baptism dates of various children. Also likely marriage of John Roberts on FindMyPast to Mary Baker St. Marys Luton 1762. John was buried according to NBI 1796 again at St. Marys. Thanks once again. Phillipa

Hi Phillipa,   Just looked at Luton PR transcript, I need to clarify the dates on my previous posting. Those were the licence allegation dates, the marriages were slightly later. All at Luton; Isaac Ivory to Ann Roberts on 8 Feb 1793; Isaac Haydon to Hannah Roberts on 11 Jan 1793 and George Davison to Sarah Ivory on 18 Apr 1793.

There is another licence allegation/marriage for John Roberts, farmer of Luton aged 30+ to Sarah Hubbins age 21+, surety by Daniel Hubbins, Tailor of Luton. Licence dated 29 Jan 1795, marriage 30 Jan 1795. He could well be son of John & Mary Roberts, baptised at Luton on 19 Jun 1763. The transcript says they were of Newmill End.

There is no further detail for the John Roberts marriage to Mary Baker on 2 Sept 1762.

Burial of John Roberts on 6 Aug 1796 says his abode was Thrales End.

Subsequent burial on 31 May 1805 of Mrs Mary Roberts, widow age 64 from fever also says her abode was Thrales End.

I am more than delighted as everything fits in very neatly.  Young Isaac Ivory and Ann Ropberts probably met in the Thrales End area as Thrales End Farm was an Ivory property for three generations and auctioned after Isaac death, in 1836.The John Roberts who married Sarah Hubbins would be the eldest son of John and Mary born 1763. Newmillend seems is another clue, as John Roberts' will mentions a messuage at Ashwell Bridge which appears to have been next to Newmillend. John's will also  reveals he had a brother Thomas Roberts yeoman of Parsonage Farm, Kings Walden, Hrts. His branch is online.

All this goes to show that data on FS/IGI needs to be checked out as registers and licences can reveal so very much more.

Beds Archives have the Admon of William Roberts of Thrales End, Luton - husbandman ref A 1822/5

His burial at Luton on 11 Mar 1821 has his abode as Thrales End, age 47

His baptism on 6 Mar 1774, son of John & Mary Roberts, of Thrales End

Thanks for that John I will contact Beds Archives. These are the first ancestors I have researched in Beds. Will look at the catalogue to see if I can spot any more docs. I am wondering whether Thrales End at that period was a hamlet or just Thrales End Farm?

Hi, further to the info about marriages and burials of the Robert family at St. Mary's church Luton in the late 18th early 19th centuries would be grateful for a lookup of the baptisms particularly to see if parents John (a farmer) and Mary Roberts's abode was Thrales End in each case. The baptisms are John 10/6/1763, Mary 19/5/1765, Hannah 15/11/1767 and Ann 3/6/1770. I already have William 6/3/1774 which states Thrales End.
