Tippetts of kenwyn/Kea/Hugus
« on: Monday 26 July 04 18:12 BST (UK) »
I am searching for my Tippett/Tippet/Tippit ancestors who lived in the Truro area noted in the title.
In particular l am looking for the marriage of John Tippett to Mary Anne Francis probably in the 1850s. On the 1851 census they are still living with their families but their first child was born by 1853. Have looked ,to no avail ,in the record office.
They had about 8 children before John died in 1871. Mary Ann then took the family to Burnley in Lancs. Mary herself, on other census returns, says she was born in Plymouth but was in the Truro area on the 1851 census. Any ideas  or links please.

I am also looking for the Tippetts.  Some are from Cornwall.

Especially Henry Tippett b. ca 1800 and 1829.  Settled in Kentucky.

Thank you.   Georgi    Tip83

Having just registered with Rootschat, I have seen your request for information on Tippett.  Whilst I can't at present give you any later information, my 4x Great Grandfather married a Margaret Tippet on the 26/12/1819.  I have not been able to find any information as the her date of birth etc and was wondering if you might be able to shed some light.  She married William Barry, I presume in St.Austell, marriage witnessed by Walter Borlase and one other.  They had three sons, although one died at a few months old.

Phil Barry, Local Yokel
The Barry name so far traced back to Richard Barry at Morwenstow Cornwall, born 28/08/1757.  Also looking for information on Phillipa Bonettah married Richard 1783, Margaret Tippet married William 1819 and Mary Hicks married Edward John 1888.

I don't know if this is of any use but my paternal Grandmother Lilian Maud Keast (1898-1957) was adopted by Robert (1855-?) and Ellen (1859-? maiden name unknown) Tippett.
They hailed from St Columb area and were in Ladock in 1901 Census.
I don't yet have any more info on them but happy to share what I have if anyone thinks Robert belongs to them.
Regards
Clive
