Hi ev

I cant find any evidence of these siblings. James and Margaret are in the 1841 census with a third person Catherine Mack born around the same year as James so maybe a sibling.

Would his death certificate show who his parents were?

Just bought the death certificate and it does have his parent James Mack and Ann Wilkie

Happy Days

If you have access to Ancestry there are a few tree's with his parents James Mack and Anne Wilkie
One tree has a copy of the death of Ann Wilkie 1866 Inverkeithing .You will find her in the 1841 Census High Street Inverkeithing Fife  ...They have a death for her husband James 1837
