James Parker born 1782 Ballyhay Cork Ireland

Hi

I am trying to research my husbands ancestor who was trialled in Dublin and transported to Australia on Atlas II in 1802, no records exist for this ship. 
I believe he was marshalled in Dublin in 1801.
I have no details of his birth, parents, trial.
Has anyone got any infomation?

Hi Mary if your ancestor was Roman Catholic the parish registers are available free online at www.registers.nli.ie  Unfortunately the Parish of Ballyhay (Ballyhea) baptisms begin from 1809 & marriages from 1811.
There are several sources on www.nationalarchives.ie that is Tithe Applotment & Griffith Valuation (didnt find any records for Parker name on these) Also 1901 & 1911 Census much too late for your family but worth a look maybe for descendants. www.historicgraves.ie several parker burials in different locations but none I could tie in to location of Ballyhay.  You mention you have no records so where did you arrive at Ballyhay for a location?

great find maggsie this I presume is from rootsireland coi record.  There are 2 Ballyhay - 1 in Fermoy Parish the other near Charleville.  Which parish is record from?

They are all the same place...off the N60 on L1322

Blimey, thankyou all so much, is there any way that you know of that we can find the trial in 1801 taken place in Dublin?

Is there a remote possibility to find more details on James Parkers father James Simpson or mother Mary Parker?

I might just be on a roll....
