You'll have had your tree then?
Skoosh.
Ha! I was still working for the Commission when we had the first identified outbreaks of Ash dieback. Ministers demanded a report on the current spread of the disease by the following Tuesday (a stupid, politics-driven deadline), so we all worked our socks off putting in long days over the weekend (no overtime payment of course.) At the end of the data gathering, we were told that as a special recognition of all our hard work, we could all have a free Christmas tree! Whoopee. A clear sign of bosses not knowing what goes on at ground (or forest) level.
