:)Hi, I am apparently descended from the 'Blueys', the 'blue clan' of Biddulph Moor Baileys. Apparently other clans were the 'Pinkies' and the 'Flattances'. ( This knowledge comes from research carried out by my late Dad, before the days of the web. ) My ancestors had their own hill...Bailey's Hill on Biddulph Moor.We were descended from 'Big Bill Bailey', who was apparently a cattle dealer, I have no idea on dates. I am clueless re genes, but I do myself have a darkish complexion and dark brown eyes, as did my late Dad Gary Bailey.
My great Grandfather Wilfrid 'Bluey' Bailey was Under Manager at the Victoria Colliery, Brown Lees, until 1939]An incredible chance discovery was made in 1956 by my late Father and Grandfather at nearby Rushton Spencer St Lawrence Church........they accidentally discovered the previously plundered burial vault of the De Trafford family beneath the church , during maintenance work. For the full story, including photos, visit 'Ludchurch; Rushton Church Grave Robbers', and you will see my post at the base of the page.( The attached photo is one of the recovered coffins )
