Yes and I still can't believe I got them sent to me, oh I wish I knew French, my father would often say come here, and I'll teach you French, but you know kids ;D  but sorry now. :(

I can only make a guess 3,4 is pretty clear I think the next are letters pp like the p in St Pierre then it's No. 8?6

Could be 34PP No816. 

Or 896 or 8/6

You.d have to find out how other sailors are listed ...can you clip the number and post it on the handwriting forum ..the people on there are really good at that sort of thing ...tho having the whole document is useful to compare letters .all the other. Numbers for dates and ages are written in full

I also wonder what   fo is short for .before the inscription number

What do you think the numbers (and letter s are ??).  Could definitely do with 2nd and 3rd opinions.
