Thanks Dave
There were some Hood farmers also recorded in the Hirst Diaries that mentioned Cridling Stubbs and a George Hood, and a horse he purchased 1830s.
According to the following website about the sale of Stapleton Park, it seems Cridling Stubbs was part of it.
Lord Petre was in residence at Stapleton Park until he went to Brussels, p.85.

The Stapleton Hall Estate had previously been advertised for Sale in 1811 with another Agent, but Advert was not detailed regarding who the Tenants were.

Mr Jefferys, at Stapleton Hall, will shew the estate, particulars are preparing, and may be had 21 days previous to the sale, of J. Carr, Esq. Wakefield ; of Messrs. Mills Robinson and Young, No. 1, Parliament-street ; of Messrs. Pearce and Kent, Craig's-court, where a map of the Estate may be seen ; at Garraway's ; and of Mr White, Storey's gate, Great George Street, Westminster.
No 1811 Particulars located so far, a shame because they sometimes name Tenants.

Several points about Stapleton Park, in the Parish of Darrington, they had their own Chapel in the house being Catholics and it seems the Tenantry used mainly, Womersley or Kirk Smeaton Churches, possibly some going to Darrington.
The Stapleton Family of Carlton, Snaith, were mainly Catholic.

There is an R.C. Register covering quite a period in years either side of the approximate Birth year of George Hood, for the area, but the R.C. Diocesan Archives, told me they had no facilities to allow public researchers to visit, nor photographic imaging, despite formal enquiries.
They politely admitted a Register existed for the area and period of my interest and that was it.
I asked the Yorkshire Archive that holds some R.C. and N.C. Registers for the 19th Century if they had any plans regarding pre 1800 Registers like this sitting in Archives and their reply didn't offer any hope re access?

ADDED:
Anyway, somebody called George Hood, had appeared in the Knottingley Land Tax in March 1813 for a year.
The 1822 Directory says George Wilkinson of Racca Green was a Shopkeeper and a Corn and Flour Dealer.
