Coogee is just down the road, literally, from Bondi where Annie was living.

Sands Sydney Directory 1928  (closing date for entries would likely be end of October 1927)
PADDINGTON
Windsor Street, North Side Off 150 Jersey road to Cascade Street

184   STEELE   Mrs Annie

Point Piper lane…..

So, that’s listing a Mrs Annie STEELE at 184 Windsor Street Paddington in late 1927.

(Paddington as in a suburb of Sydney NSW)

 ADD

It might be my Annie then then moved to Redfern and back to her maiden name  :-\

This was from State Library of New South Wales

Thank you for your enquiry. I have consulted the 1926, 1928 and 1930 electoral rolls (the rolls were produced every two years at this time) and found the following results:

1926 - No Titteringtons on the electoral roll for Redfern (Division of South Sydney, Sub-division of Redfern)

1928 - Titterington, Annie, 51 Castlereagh Street, home duties, F, Redfern (Division of South Sydney, Sub-division of Redfern)

Titterington, Janet, c.o. Maitland, 7 Castlereagh Street, home duties, F, Redfern (Division of South Sydney, Sub-division of Redfern)

1930 - Titterington, Janet, 51 Castlereagh Street, home duties, F, Redfern (Division of South Sydney, Sub-division of Redfern)

In 1928 Annie Titterington was the only person with that surname living at her address.

Source of information from Annie's sister, Margaret (deceased)
1928/29 Annie and her de-facto husband Jack, separated.
1929/30(...date?) Jack James, Annie's de-facto husband, died

It was the go to hospital for women living in the city to have their babies. I think your cousin, J.P., was born there.

The Coogee link probably refers to where the birth was registered.

The 1928 NSW Electoral Rolls were printed because of the NSW referendum re Prohibition.   The referendum was held 1 September 1928.  The rolls would have been closed for a number of weeks prior.   Trove would likely have adverts in the SMH.

Referendum date confirmed as 1 September 1928

Add2 No by-elections in South Sydney in 1928,  but errrr   there was a by-election in Coogee  :-X  :-X  :-X later in Sept 1928

Add3 Rolls already printed by 1 June 1928, so likely would have closed by about end of April to allow time for checking and then printed during May.
