 Thankyou all for your kindness, much appreciated. I am thoroughly enjoying the old photos although I haven't found the ones I was looking for. I will write to a couple of offices, meanwhile , I'll be still be enjoying the photos you found for me. Kindest regards and thankyou all.  Sue

Leicester University Archive have a very good collection of such photos available on line. Have certainly found some photos of Great Holme Street there.
