I have an ancestor James DOW shoemaker (b.18/9/1808 Skene - d.25 June 1889)
who had parents Lewis DOW and Elizabeth DEANS
While looking on the Scotlandspeople website I downloaded a possible
ancestor, Lewis DOW, labourer, who 4th feb 1856 died who is buried
(accoring to his death certificate) in Banchory Ternan in Kincardine,
originally from 'Glenbucket )Glenbuchat? Aberdeenshire. This was the only
death on the cvil register but my interest was not too piqued until I found
the following on the FreeCEN:
Piece: SCT1841/252 Place: Banchory-Ternan-Kincardineshire Enumeration
District: 9
Civil Parish: Banchory Ternan Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: -
Folio: 9 Page: 7
Address: Crownest
Surname First name(s) Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks
DOW Lewis M 58 Ag.Lab Outside Census County (1841)
DOW Elisabeth F 64 Outside Census County (1841)
Thus - is there a MI for Banchory Ternan churchyard (couldn't find one on
ANESFHS website) and/or can someone check 1851 Kincardine census which may
have more info?
cheers
