Sketch of knight & dog, Little Chesterford PRs, burials, drawn 1754
« on: Tuesday 20 September 16 20:09 BST (UK) »
Can anyone shed light on this? It was in the parish registers, at the beginning of the burials section for Little Chesterford. In the upper right is George Ledghan (?), Esqr. Is it a sketch of an effigy on top of a tomb, perhaps, with the loyal dog at his feet? Bottom right has the artist's initials and the date 1754.

Thanks, Judy

Thank you keldon,

everything is explained in Reply #2!

A dog had been very often on old tombs and epitaphs.

Here a dog in three dimensions (1367):
