Percy marries 22 December 1907 - Francis Edward given as father.  Witnesses are Harry Bernard and Frances Mabel Gould.

Harry Bernard marries 12 April 1903 - Francis Edward (deceased) given as father.

Francis Edward Gould dies September quarter 1902 - Birmingham - aged 52

I can't readily see any registration for Elsie (6 in 1901 and 17 in 1911)  in Aston or Birmingham 1892-1896.

Winifred May registered June quarter 1897 - Aston - volume 6d, page 301

Extending further - there is a registration June quarter 1893 - Warwick - 6d 605 - for Elsie Rose Gould.

Alternatively, she was registered under an entirely different name, later to be called "Elsie"

Did Elsie marry?  If so, what name was she registered under - Elsie or Elsie

So she married Edward Goostry in 1912.  Does your friend have the marriage certificate to confirm what the W stands for - I'm assuming that it was Winifred 

Again there is no birth registration for Elsie Winifred or Winifred Elsie in the given timescale 

Winifred May 1897 is the only one - 3 in 1901 and 14 in 1911, as opposed to Elsie 6 and 17 respectively  marrying Thomas H Hunt in June quarter 1919
