Hello
I wondered if anyone could suggest how I could obtain either a photo or inscription, of someone buried in Canisbay Cemetery?
Thank you very much

I have a copy of the Canisbay MIs by Cowper & Ross. What name is it you are looking for?

Hello Ellen
Thank you for your reply. The name is Reverend Alex Robertson. His wife's name is Kathleen. He died in August 1986
Many thanks

Ah sadly that one is too recent. The MI books tend to have only the older gravestones transcribed. Several Robertsons in Canisbay, but most recent is 1939. Sorry.

That is okay - thank you for trying anyway. If I didn't live so far away, I would have gone there to take the photo myself
Your help was appreciated though

Another good site, and you can search for surnames.
https://sites.google.com/site/highlandmemorialinscriptions/home/caithness
TEW family of Leire/Leicester and New Zealand
MERRICKS of Stafford/Birmingham
PENTECOST of Surrey and New Zealand
POTENTIER of France, England and Canada
WATKINS of London and New Zealand
WHITAKER of Guiseley Yorkshire and New Zealand
LYALL, of Dundee, Caithness and New Zealand
And far too many to add

Found this from the Herald

I see he died suddenly at age 54 and was born in Dundee, nice list of previous parishes as Baptist then Cof Scotland.
