Looking for information, death etc of Matthew Findlay,

Hi Looking for information on Matthew Findlay born 31 Jul 1880 in Ayrshire Scotland the son of Francis Findlay and Susan Millar, he emigrated to Canada in 1906. On the 1911 Census was lodging with Andrew and Mary Leggate who are also family members. He wrote to his sister Margaret Findlay dated Oct 9 1950 from 719-2nd St. East Calgary, Albert, Canada, to say he had "Just come out of the hospital, but not as bad as last time, had cut a lot of stuff out of my bladder"  I was told he had cancer, Would like to know what happened to him.  Jonty

Canada Voters List 1953 - Matthew Findlay - Retired - Royal Avenue. Calgary. (no Mrs Matthew Findlay listed and many listed were retired - could be a home for retired people  )

Long shot maybe but there is a death for a M Elizabeth Findlay 1884 - 1953 wonder if that could be a possibility for a wife for Matthew  NO Mrs Findlay listed on that 1953 voters list with Matthew.

The Alberta Genealogy Research (The Recents) website has an obituary listed in their index for M. Elizabeth Findlay with those dates but in brackets it says (Mrs. Willi... - it's cut off at that point) but safe to assume she was married to a William Findlay.

Are you looking for the Matthew Findlay who was the son of Francis Findlay and Susan Miller or a Matthew Findlay who was born in Aryshire? The one who was the son of Francis and Susan was born on the date you gave in Avondale, Lanark. There are 2 births for people named Matthew Findlay who were born in Ayrshire in 1879.
