Can anyone identify what seaside town this picture was taken in
« on: Saturday 27 August 16 18:43 BST (UK) »
This is a picture of my mum taken in the late 1940's to early 1950's. Would love to know where it may have been taken. I'm hoping someone may recognise the sea wall. I think it would either be south or east coast England. Unfortunately she is no longer around to identify location.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Where did she and her family live  at that time, do you know?

There are not many clues  visible, are there?

Have you any other photos   that could be taken on the same holiday?

What do you reckon that is behind the deckchair ~ flag pole ? lifeboat flag ~ can you see the material hanging down ?

  Good point.

It could be a red flag  to warn against   swimming, is one possibility.

To low for a flagpole I suspect ~ right height for warning against swimming etc.

Doesn't look like Blackpool

The other clue   is the shadows.

During the war, all  beaches  were protected by dragons teeth and barbed wire,  and promenades "out of bounds to civilians"
It took some time to clear those obstructions.

The groove  in the concrete at the top  is a puzzle.

I should have gone to Specsavers     ;D

I  see it now,   part of a flag  hanging down.

It could be an  RNLI    flag   at a Lifeboat station.   Therefore it could possibly Poole   HQ   of RNLI ...  just a shot in the dark.
