I've just checked the "castle" entrance to Withernsea beach on the east coast but unfortunately it's not that.

It looks heavy rough concrete walling, could it be German walls of defence in the channel islands
In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

I think it would either be south or east coast England.

I'm fairly sure that it isn't Brighton, Hastings or Eastbourne as the sea wall isn't like that in those towns. She is sitting on the promenade rather than the beach as well.

We are till missing where she normally lived. The seaside resort visited would often be related to residence in those days. It is unlikely to be Whitley Bay if she lived in Slough!

The deckchairs what I remember as a kid in the mid 1950's holidays at Bridlington, Scarborough, Cleethorpes, Skeggy and Blackpool use to be mostly  (bulk of them) various bright coloured & white striped with black bold lettering printed on the wood frame sides, and mass purpose made for the northern factories annual 2 week holidays. By the early sixties after dad got a car, we ventured to the south coast at Eastbourne, Brighton and Cornwall ect, where their deckchairs seemed more 1930's cruise ship type plain cloth traditional solid colours
