« on: Saturday 27 August 16 05:03 BST (UK) »
Hi
Could anyone help me locate on Trove Alice Louisa Richards Death Notice, I know she died November 1919 as she died 12 months after her husband Claude Melnotte Richards was killed in ww1 in France, left left behind 4 small children..I have hunted Ancestry and Trove and I cannot find a thing, only in Notices of Claudes death.Even on Ancestry she comes up as being married to Claude and her ma7dan name is McNeil or Macneil both spell7ngs come up....
Thanks
Rhys

Rhys, once again I suggest you post on the Australia board. Your last post was moved there.

How do you know that there was a death notice?

Wondering what she might of died from..all seems rather sad losing your husband then 12 months later her dying.we are searching forcwho raised her children, must have been family but who is the question we are searching as well.going to have to order death certificate I think.

Not everyone had a death notice.  Even if there was a notice, it isn't unusual in that era to say wife of the late......   Often there was only a funeral notice mentioned where and when and where the funeral was leaving from ie a residence or other location.

Alice is buried in an unmarked grave at Sandgate cemetery.

Her birth

30827/1888
McNEIL Alice L
Father Peter Mother Harriett J
District Newcastle

You can purchase a transcription of her death cert for $20 which would give you the names of her children.
