If you search the free index for the 1939 - Elsie I Lovill 1901 it mentions Frank & 2 more on the record.  It also states that there 3 closed records as well.

I would take this entry to mean Elsie I & Frank & 2 more and 3 closed records (7 in all)

Ah interesting.  The transcription makes no mention of any closed records but the original image has three in between two other names.

Strong: Wiltshire

By working round you can see the three people. Then on all pages , 3 are locked.

Hi ,was wondering if anyone could give me some advice please.
I am trying to find a child born in taunton workhouse 1920/30/40.
The mother was institutionalised there .

It looks as if the "workhouse" days were over by 1940, it was a hospital from 1929.
Lots of old large workhouse buildings were used in that way.  Elsie probably  wouldn't have been "sent to the workhouse" as we would say.
