I can tell you in the time spent at Brampton Robert Hood only recorded 2 baptisms he just didn't bother with them. It was only when he left for Hanover Sq Newcastle that the elders at Brampton compiled as full a list of registers as they could put together from Roberts time there.

I'm presuming with this info he probably didn't bother with his children either. I know Peter Hood ( possible son) was born c1755 and can't see anything for him.

Even though Nonconformists had that Act, which was supposed to allow them Freedom to worship, some still experienced discrimination. Some would not employ them, many were forced to make their living themselves, some looked to Quakers and other N.C. Gentleman to help them in business.

I agree, N.C. didn't always record or keep Baptism records.

There are no Births recorded for the Selby, Yorkshire, Presbyterian Chapel Meeting 1690 to 1796.

The book by William Wilberforce Morrell, of Selby says there was no early record keeping of the Wesleyan Methodists at Selby.

You can't always find nonconformists baptised in Anglican or C of E Baptism records. I am not referring to Jews, Quakers or R.C., here.

The Catholics were asked to send in a Return in 1767. Selby complied with a return comprising of forename and surname letters only, with ages, some occupations and how long resident.

I don't know if you have this info or not Mark

I found it in Google books

FOUND INSIDE – PAGE 1123
... ANTHONY HOOD , Esq . one of the alder- men of Newcastle - upon - Tyne , died , at his house near that town , July 24 , aged about 53 years . (book was 1811)
In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

The Borderers Table Book; ... Vol III

Page 8
Aubone Surtees (died at Benwell 1800) was the Son of Edward Surtees, Esq. of Hedley-woodhead, by his Wife Frances, daughter and coheir of William Aubone, Esq., Alderman of Newcastle. The book said he married her at Ovington, 9th April 1705.

A transcription says Frances Albany.

The book says the surname of William Aubone, Sheriff of Newcastle in 1679 and Mayor in 1684, was sometimes varied to Albany.

Richard and Eleanor had a few children, but from the baptism of his daughter Elizabeth in 1800

Elizabeth daughter of Richard Gibson of Selby Cooper, son of THOMAS GIBSON of Hall's Gates near Newcastle labourer, and by Elizabeth his wife daughter of --- Brown of Bedlington, Northumberland

So looking for a Richard Gibson born c 1766 near Newcastle son of Thomas and Elizabeth.

EDIT:

Elianor daughter of Leonard Colbert, woodman of Selby, by Elianor his wife daughter of Matthew Lofthouse of Seathingwell in the parish of Saxon, farmer.

Hall's Gate and Benwell Lodge were close, a short distance over the main road (road West out of Newcastle) from each other.

The image and links mentions Hall's Gate, Nun's Moor and the Town Moor.
