[According to the Duty Paid on Apprentices in 1796 and newspaper notice of an 1814 Marriage, George Hood of Morpeth, trained as Butcher and was a Butcher at the time of his marriage, so the Butcher in the 1811 Directory is likely to be him, Father was Alexander].

Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore carried on by Robert Hood and David Haggie, as Ropers, at Hillgate, in Gateshead, in the County of Durham, under the firm of Hood and Haggie, was dissolved, by the death of the said Robert Hood, on the 29th August last ; and the business hath since been carried on by the said David Haggie alone.- All debts due to and from the said Partnership will be received and paid by the said David Haggie, at the Ropery Office, in Hillgate aforesaid.- Dated this 2d November 1812.

Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore carried on by John Robertson, George Sowerby, John Ryle, William Birkinshaw, and Robert Hood, in or near Pipewellgate, in the Parish of Gateshead, in the County of Durham, as Glass Manufacturers, was dissolved, as to the said William Birkinshaw, on the 3d day of August now last past, as to the said Robert Hood upon his decease, which happened on or about the 29th day of August now last past, and as between the said John Robertson, George Sowerby, and John Ryle on the day of the date hereof : As witness the bands of the said parties the 18th day of February 1813.

THE Partnership carried on by Elizabeth Wood, Taylor Winship, and George Henderson, as Coalfitters, Timber Merchants, and Ship Owners, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, under the firm of A. Hood and Company, was the 31st day of December now last amicably dissolved, so far as regards the said Taylor Winship, and will be carried on by the remaining partners, under the firm of A. Wood and Company : As witness our hands the 2d day of January 1815.

Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership carried on by Taylor Winship, Jonathan Sorsbie, William Harle, and, Henry Wright, as Rope-Makers, in the Town and County of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Gateshead, in the County of Durham, under the firm of Winship, Harle, and Co. was on the 11th day of May now last amicably dissolved .- All persons therefore who stand indebted to the said Partnership are requested to pay their respective debts to the said William Harle; and all persons who have any demands upon the said Partnership are requested to send in the particulars of their demands to the said William Harle, that they may be discharged : As witness their bands the 21st June 1816.
