I can find no record of the lady who is named on the headstone under the name Spilsted,I wonder if she was a common law wife,can anyone find another marriage for Clive to a Beatrice Florence?

The address he gave was a large block of government owned flats,maybe he he was going to stay with a tenant in the flats

I too, have looked for Beatrice with no success. Clive died "at his residence, Flat 59, State Flats, Grey's Avenue"..........

I think unless he was returning to NZ and had prior tenancy of the flat he must have been staying with someone who was the tenant as from memory there was a waiting list for government flats in those days,

Looking at the passenger list  he died the same day the ship arrived in Auckland.

Probably an overseas marriage?   As I can see mentioned a Mrs Beatrice F Spilsted along with a Mr Clive A Spilsted arriving Vancouver/New Zealand on the Honolulu/Hawaii Passenger/Crew list. Perhaps someone with a full sub to the Ancestry website can look.
