Look up request please? Surname CARTER

Hi
Im looking for the birth of my 4x Great Grandfather, really struggling, and you are my last hope.

John Carter born 1790/1 Upton Grey, Hampshire
Married Mary Benham 1817, Lasham Hampshire

Until i find his birth, then this line of my tree is closed, because i cannot find anything, anywhere....FindMyPast, Ancestry, British Newspaper Archives.

Could you confirm your dates of the birth and the marriage please.
Places of interest;

So the birth dates and places come from a census?  1851 perhaps?

When did the couple marry, please?  Might this have been a second marriage for John since there is quite a big age gap.

Sorry - just realised that I misunderstood - they married in 1817.  Is Mary of a similar age to John?

Yes Mary Benham was born 1795 in Lasham, Hampshire, i am able to trace her family, its the parents of John Carter i need...Thank you

Just in case you don't already have it, Mary Benham was baptised 30th August 1794 at St Mary, Lasham, daughter of William & Mary, details from freereg.
Dinsdale, Ellis, Gee, Goldsmith,Green,Hawks,Holmes,  Lacey, Longhorn, Pickersgill, Quantrill,Tuthill, Tuttle & Walker,  in E & W Yorks, Lincs, Norfolk & Suffolk. Census information is Crown Copyright from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

The only Carter baptism I can find in the right sort of time-frame is for a Richard Carter, son of Thomas & Elizabeth on 18 May 1788.
