Service Records for French Foreign Legion 1950's
« on: Wednesday 10 August 16 18:05 BST (UK) »
Would anyone be able to suggest where it might be possible to find records for service in Foreign Legion - have certificate & photo in uniform? for chap who was born 1932. Apparently he had two passports - maybe had to make a quick getaway?

just did a google search and from a couple of military forums the consensus seems to be that the likely hood of getting service records is nil from a post on one of them dated 2012 a senior French official tried to get a record and he couldn't get anywhere either the legion keep there own records it says and so are a law unto themselves what happens to them , others may tell you different but that's what I just read .

Many thanks - that is what I suspected.
