Someone on another forum has suggested it is from a more local Eisteddfod rather than national as all national ones have the date inscribed! It's still beautiful - will get a photo. I don't think that the family travelled very far so that W Ellis would not be right as Llangefni is on Angelsey I think... Thx all for help thus far!

Is it a heavy substantial chair?
Some chairs in some categories some years are not awarded.
The 1939 one, for example, was not awarded because of the imminent start of the war.
