Having looked at this further I don't think Ann Nicol's death cert will help. According to a tree on Ancestry Ann was the daughter of John Nicol and Charlotte Davidson. The Helen living with her as niece in 1851 appears to be the daughter of her brother James (1806-1895) and Helen Farmer ( who died in 1850). However can't find any sign of this Helen in 1861 nor can I find any sign in 1851 of the Helen shown as the daughter James and Christian in 1861. All very confusing as both are the same age and have the same place of birth.

     Possible death for Jean Ormrod? Found the following OPR Death on ScotlandsPeople:
     Jess Omerad, died 25th February 1848, Abbotshall, Fife.
     Jessie, Jessy & Jess are pet forms of Janet. Forenames Janet, Jane & Jean were interchangeable at that time in Scotland.
