holsworthy baptism--STADDON

Is there anyone who could please look up the christening record of Jane Staddon, born in the first three months of 1859 in Holsworthy, or possibly Pyworthy? I've seen her marriage record, where the space for her father's name just says "illegitimate" but I'd like to find her mother's name, and if any father's name was suggested at her christening. Thanks very much in advance!

I think both Holsworthy and Pyworthy are in Devon not Cornwall so might be an idea to post on the Devon board

I found Jane Staddon in 1861 Census as a Boarder (I am sure you have that).
As I cant get Anc at present I only looked on Familysearch.Org to find possible Census for her.
1871 she appears to be just Jane (no surname), Pauper, born 1859. Holsworthy, Devon.
(also on F/S.Org)

Who did Jane Marry?

My gut instinct is her Mother was SARAH Staddon who died 1868 age 48 (FreeBMD)

I think you may have to get the Birth Cert to establish her Mothers name.

As a side, did you notice a Henry HADDON, born c 1862, Devonport, Devon, on the same 1871 Census as Jane?
If you look at the image it looks like Henry Staddon to me. A Brother?

1861 he may be Henry Staddon born c 1860 Pyworthy, Devon, a Boarder in Holsworthy.

1901 he may be William H Staddon born c 1859 Pyworthy
1881 William H Staddon born c 1862 Holsworthy, newly married to Annie.
Cant find a Marriage.

EDIT he may have married Annie WOODLEY Kilkhampton, Cornwall, 22 March 1881
Names his Father as JOHN, a Labourer (may have lied?)

Ann names her Father as John Woodley, CornwallOPC has a Baptism 1857 Stratton for her, Mother MARY JANE Woodley, Singlewoman.
So looks like she lied and is Illegitimate.
It fits as WH and Ann name their 1st Daug Mary Jane.
