These are my Salzer family, outside a bakers (great grandad was Martin Salzer, a master baker).

In the 1920's they were lived in Carlton Road/Street in Camden, and I get an idea this is their shop there.

Can anyone read the shop sign? 232?

In any case, when do you think this photo was taken?

Going left to right, starting with the lady with the X drawn on.
Hilda born Salzer 1904,
Martin Jnr (I think) b 1890
Martin Snr b1859
The next 2, not sure, but one could be William b1898

The child in arms could be Jacky (boy b1924) or Audrey b1922

What do you all make of it?

yeah it could well say Confectioner, especially looking at the window

Early 20's I would suggest. The chap on the right has short narrow leg trousers which were a popular style throughout the teen years but went out of fashion in the 20's.
I can't see anything in front of the 3. I think what you're seeing is just part of the fancy writing.
The shop was opposite Gilbey's which doesn't help.

I think that reflection on the window at the right of the photo is an advertisement for 'Gilbey's Invalid Port', so doesn't help with location unfortunately.

I really should look at the photo - I never even noticed the reflection!

If this is early 20's then this must be in the Carlton Road area in Camden.  If the number starts with 3*, not 23*, then it more likely the south end of what is now Grafton Road (maybe!)
