Another cross check (using the SWB comparison method).  10452 E Yorks number was issued in August 1914  so beginning to lean towards the medal wearer being this man and that he is the father or son is wearing his medals).

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

If it was the son wearing his father's medals wasn't the etiquette to wear them on the right lapel ?

Hello
sorry not been able to respond, but all I know is what I have read in bits and pieces of stuff I have found and read.i
dont know if what has been written is correct as none of my aunts and uncles are alive.no idea where medals would be or if anyone had them.
I did find out his motheri think left his father not sure when or why or whatever happened to her but I dont know if his
Father was in the war, ive seen nothing written about it anywhere.i didnt even grow up knowing him, my family moved to Australia when I was 8 years old and thst was when I last saw my grandfather.

but I would like to thank you all for everything you have done
