Evening Everybody,

I think I posted this about 4 years ago but had no luck.

So I am going to request your help to see if you can shed any light on this five year old brick wall. Here goes.

I am looking for the baptism records for JOHN HANCOCK born cica 1824 Taunton and his brother JOSEPH HANCOCK b.c 1814. Taunton

I have all the relevant census records and Wills for the above people and I know all there is to know regarding their lives after their births but cant confirm their birth dates.

Their sister ELIZABETH HANCOCK was born in Wilton in 1816 and the parish record confirm this.

The only other details I can confirm are the parents names JOHN and MARY HANCOCK. JOHN was a  silk weaver/weaver, but I dont know where they were born and cannot confirm their deaths.

Is any one able to offer any advise?

John son of John and Mary Hancock of Taunton, was baptised at the Octagon Wesleyan Chapel in Taunton on 21 Aug 1821.

Can't see anything similar for Joseph though.

Do you have John and Mary  (the parents) on a census or have you only found the children? Presumably Joseph is the one in Cullompton with wife Eliza (poss nee Criddle)?
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Thanks for your response. You have found the right family for Joseph. John lived in Exeter.
I have no information with regards to their parents John and Mary.I don't know their birth death nor marriage dates other than confirmation of the names on certificate s I have obtained.
