Hi Gabby,
Yes, I am still trying to find other sources for these two. This is what I have:
By 1881, Ann was a widow. Francis had died in 1874 Dec q. She went on to marry a John Best, who was from Durham (according to subsequent Census).
The Census details I have are:
1881 Skelton (RG11/4842 p.38?)
John BEST, Hd, 34, Iron Mining, not known
Ann BEST, Wf, 36, ,Pocklington Yorks (Formerly Ann ALLISON)
John W BEST, S, 12, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
Francis BEST, S, 10, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
George BEST, S, 5, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
Tom BEST, S, 3, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
Polly BEST, Da, 7, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
Ada BEST, Da, 6, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
*Minnie BEST, Da, 8, Scholar, Skelton Yorks
(* I think this should read 8 months)
1871 North Kilvington (RG10/4836 p.2)
Francis ALLISON, Hd, 27, Ag Lab, Dunnington - Yorks
Ann ALLISON, Wf, 25, ,Pocklington Yorks
John W ALLISON, S, 1, , Askham Yorks
1861 Sutton on Derwent (RG9/3558 p.10)
Francis ALLISON, Hd, 19, Farm Servant, Dunnington Yorks
I know that Francis married Anne Elizabeth WILKINSON the June quarter of 1867. I also believe that I have found the right Francis ALLISON on LDS being christened on 21st March 1842. This has his parents as John ALLISON and Barbara. What I would like to be able to confirm is that Francis parents are indeed John and Barbara on the 1851 Census, if possible.
I could not find an Anne Elizabeth WILKINSON on the 1861 Census. I do think I have the right one on LDS being christened 5th Jan 1844. This has her parents as being John and Mary. Again the 1851 Census could verify this for me.
If you are able to help here, too, that would be great.
Kind regards
David
