Mary Ann northcott
« on: Saturday 16 July 16 15:57 BST (UK) »
Good Day:

I am searching for a Mary Ann Northcott she was born in Lakefield Ont in the early 1900s her parents were Esther McNaughton and John James Northcott. Mary Ann was a teacher in Trenton and Campbellford Ont. She attended the Normal school in Peterborough and also attended PCVS in Peterborough , she lived in Trenton and was married to Francis Hendricks.
I am wanting proof that she was a teacher and student at the schools I mentioned and pictures of schools if possible.

Thank you ;

Mrs. Mander

Have you tried/considered contacting the nearest public library or historical society in Peterborough to see if they can assist you.
Canada Voters list for 1935/40/49/58 do not list her as a teacher. Husband passed away 1960  - Mary listed Marie - a widow in 1963 - no occupation.   Mary didn't pass away until 1996 - have you located obituary for her ? Might mention passed employment  ???

Nice ancestry tree with photographs of the couple. No info on occupation.

Toronto Public Library has copies of the Peterborough Normal School yearbook.  Not sure what years they have, but worth contacting them to find out.

Unfortunately no free websites for an obituary or death notice.

Might be worth asking here

The Toronto library has an "ask a librarian" feature.   You can contact them via email or phone.

The Trenton library also has contact information on the site.  Perhaps they could assist with finding obituaries for your couple?
