LDS FAMILY HISTORY CENTRES
« on: Wednesday 13 July 16 17:05 BST (UK) »
Hi.  I wonder if anyone has used the LDS Family History Centre in Birkenhead, Merseyside?  It appears they may have some records on fiche that I would like to consult regarding infantry regiments in the mid 1800s.

Some years ago I used the one at Chorley and although they were very helpful, the film I needed was not available at the centre and had to be ordered for a very small fee - about £2.50

I had to wait quite a long time before it arrived and after all that - I didn't find what I was looking for :'(

I would suggest that you contact them, or attend the Centre at a time they are open, to confirm whether they have the records you require.  The Centres are usually run by LDS volunteers, but I've always found them to be very helpful.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

The main library in Salt Lake City is much less busy than it used to be with more records on line.

Information about Chorley Branch Library.
