Yes I think that is the death. According to the papers he died near Otaki and the informants did not know much about this James WALSH.

I have that he was born about 1842 so the dates are a little out. However it does fit that the family said he left around 1887/1888. Their last child was born at the beginning of 1887.

Will have to look for an inquest to see if that will help.

Hi Helen

My name is Tania and I am the daughter of Hugh and Betty Hambleton's daughter [and sister in law to Tania a.k.a Coasterx3].

I am just wondering if you got any further in your search for James Walsh?  Through DNA we have connected to descendants of Anne Dempsey's sister who are also in New Zealand, however we are still in the dark about James.
