Ok go into your original post. At the bottom of the page you should be able to see a grey bar with the words Quick Reply and a red arrow. Just above that are the words Link to Calendar and Topic Completed.
Click on Topic Completed and when you go back to the main page it should show a green tick. That should ensure that people won't keep looking at the thread.
