Great Bridge which parish?

Hello

I have someone in 1873 coming from Great Bridge, Staffordshire. I do not seem to be able to find such a parish, and wondered what is the most likely church to have been used?

Could you give us a bit more information - name, source etc would possibly help in the search for Great Bridge.  I can't readily see Great Bridge on Genuki parishes.

Mr Wiki says that Great Bridge is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, in Tipton near the border of West Bromwich.

Great Bridge would come under one of the Tipton parishes:

St John  (Registers 1854-1978)
St Martin (Registers 1573-1901)
St Paul (Registers from 1839)

GenUKI says, re Tipton:
Tipton Green, the largest village in Tipton parish, is one and a half miles N of Dudley, and three miles S of Bilston, and consists of a number of populous streets, with several wharfs, manufactories, and retail shops. Branching eastward are the neighbouring villages of Bloomfield, Burnt-Tree, Dudley Port, and Horseley Heath, the three latter of which form one continuous street of houses and manufactories, extending two miles on the Birmingham road, and a little beyond them are the large villages of Toll-End and Great Bridge, the latter of which is partly in West Bromwich.

And GenUKI also says, of West Bromwich:
The other principal assemblages of houses and streets are Swan Village, Hill-Top, Spon Lane, and Great Bridge, the latter of which is partly in Tipton parish.

So, maybe you also need to look at West Bromwich?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Hi
Can a just add that Great Bridge would also come under West Bromwich St Peters and is under West Bromwich on the census.
There are many little non conformist chapels around there  such as Great Bridge Street Primitive Methodist.
It's on the main road between West Bromwich and Dudley and is a real boundary town.

St. Peter's records are in Sandwell archives.i think some are I still with the church because there was an entry I needed mid 1930's.

I have rellies from Great Bridge and most used the church of St Martin in Tipton, or St Peter in West Bromwich.  My G Grandma who lived in Sheepwash Lane, which seemed to be on the boundary had most of her children baptised in St Martin, Tipton.   There have been lots of records added recently for St Martin and St Peter, West Bromwich.
