I wondered, if they were looking at the original rather than a transcription, whether the "148" referred to the Schedule No. entry in Column 1 rather than an entry in the address column?

Could be. If Miyam would just tell us the the names of the people concerned, we could all have a look at it.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

If it's high street Glasgow then I would say it was a tenement.

Yes would agree Pharma some of my husbands ancestors lived there if you google the address you will find some photo's of the buildings
