Knight Family from Cornwall arriving Brisbane C1861-1863

I can confirm that you have identified the family and aware that other children were born Seymore Vic. Hartley NSW , and Thebarton South Australia.
Martha ( Knight ) Longstaff born Thebarton. was the grandmother of my late wife.

I think Lucy , her mother died following birth of Martha , who was then reared by Grace Knight  a sister of Lucy who had married Robert Grigg.

I assume Thomas and Lucy probably landed Queensland and initially lived Ipswich , but possible they arrived elsewhere.
They do not appear to be listed on the site cited by Ruskie.

Robert Grigg and Grace ( Knight ) arrived Port Adelaide 16 Dec 1856 on "Monsoon".

Martha Knight married Edward Albert Longstaff. She died Yarraville Victoria.

All I need now is the passenger list for Thomas and Lucy.
  Quite possible first child on the way.

I haven't been able to locate their arrival and have run out of options.

Is there not a way to find them leaving from the UK end?

The Monsoon arrived 17 March 1857, having left the UK in December 1856.

I am trying to come up with other ideas.
I know they married 1861 and were living with the widowed ( twice) mother of Thomas at the 1861 Census which was earlier that same year.
I can't find them again until a son John Daniel is born Queensland 10 Jul 1863. They must have lived Ipswich for a few years.
Should they appear on Electoral Rolls? Perhaps only if they owned property.
? that wouldn't indicate when and where they arrived Australia.

Grace was a sister of Thomas Knight not Lucy. My mistake.
Did I get the arrival date for Robert and Grace Grigg slightly wrong?
They reared Martha Knight b1878 Thebarton South Australia.

I'm curious, Rex, what was Thomas' occupation that allowed him to moved about so far and often?

The simply had the departure date for the ship and not the arrival date in SA.

Why do you think they possibly lived in Ipswich?

I think he was a labourer/miner but will refer to my records.
Again one of the birth or death records must have mentioned Ipswich.
I will check.
His death registration might mention how long in Australia , assuming the informant knew.

According to the death registration of Martha b1788  d1967, her father was a stonemason.
She was 88 when she died and it states she was 6 years in South Australia and 82 years in Victoria.
