Apparently in leeds there is a register microfilmed PL/3/7/5.
I am looking for information as to why a john percy crowther was sent to Ontario,aged 10 on the 10 aug 1888 by the leeds board of guardians .He was on the ship Lake Ontario.According to the Canadian archives there should be 2 pages for him.I am interested to know who his parents were and if he was orphaned or abandoned. Without this information I cannot identify him in the census. Any help appreciated.

There is an Ontario marriage 7 January 1903 Kent Ontario for John Percy Crowthers born 1878 England.  Parents listed as Samuel crowther and Mother Louisa Petty.  Spouse was Nora Ann Nevils.

Possible death - John P Crowther born 1878 England died 13 September 1918 Oxford Ontario. Place of death Woodstock. Place of burial Wheatley Ontario. Occupation Baker.  Married. Accident Killed at CPR crossing. Instantaneous. Informant George Dresser.

Mother's name:   Nora A Nevilles.

Ellwood crowthers on the 1921 census Essex Ontario with a remarried mother.

Nora Smeson/Imeson   43 Born Ontario. Widowed.
Ellwood Crowther 15
Arnold Crowther    12
Madeline Crowther 4

Nora had married Joseph Imeson 22 September 1920 Essex Ontario. Father John Imeson
Mother Louisa Thayer. Joseph was a widower and Nora a widow.
