Mostly from newspaper archive and census.  I kept reading about 3rd generation breeders in the Preston cronicle. Did a bit of research and it tied in with my Dobsons.   Thanks for the advice.... I'm heading up there in a few weeks and hope to do some old fashioned hands on research.. bit difficult doing it from kent
