Hi I am trying to help a freind with her family hiistory and i am struggling to get back on her Buchannan line. Her grandfather Joseph buchannan was born 17 January 1909 or 17 January 1910(there is some confussion as to which year is correct) at 10 Backcauseway Glasgow (father James). I wonder if anyone access to baptism records or census returns. Any help will be most appreciated.

Hi the best thing would be to do a search at www.scotlandspeople.gov it will cost you £7.00 for 30 credits ..That will give you enough credits to view both births to see which is the right one ..Do you have a mothers name ?

Hi Rosie,

Thank you for your reply. As I mentioned I am doing the research for a friend and I was hoping that there might be records available(or someone might have access to them) with out any extra costs being incurred. I  dont know Joseph's mothers name. I know his father as Sarah has a copy of his marriage certificate, however, as he married in Yorkshire this only gives the father's name.
