what im wondering is could this be james death reg born 1875 died apr-jun 1916 Oldham lancs  vol 8d page 823 age 41 only if james died of wounds he could have been hospitalized when he died and as there were several hospitals used during ww1 in Oldham , just a thought ! , the above was the only death I could find that fits year of birth and death .

of course the Effects register Isobel mentioned must mean he was killed?

thanks for your help. Spoke to a relative last night. It turns out this guy is not family.I've decided not to do anymore research on it.
